Many parents prefer their children to go to a school that incorporates religion into the curriculum. Public schools can't offer a religion-based curriculum, but private schools can. How exactly do religious-based private schools include religion in their students' daily lives? Here are 4 ways high school students can learn about their religion in private high school.
Religion Class
Enroll your teenager in a private high school program that includes religion classes. In religion class, students will study the Old Testament and New Testament by reading and memorizing Bible verses. Depending on the religion, students may also study other religious texts, such as the Catechism or the Torah.
Students will gain a strong understanding of the events of the Bible and the lessons that come with them. They will learn how to apply these lessons to their everyday life. They will also learn critical thinking and how to express complex ideas.
Church
Private schools often have a church attached to them. The churches operate as normal churches. Students will attend church once a week during the school week to worship and learn. The students will also be encouraged to attend church on Sunday. Some schools will take attendance on Monday morning. Students who don't have a ride to church on Sunday can often utilize carpool services offered through the school.
Sunday School
On Sunday, most churches offer multiple services. They also offer Sunday school classes. Sunday school classes often include kid-friendly religious lessons designed to make religion palatable for the younger mind. High school students can volunteer to teach Sunday school classes when they outgrow them. Sunday school teachers will learn how to teach children and develop public speaking skills.
Religious Retreats
Many private schools offer religious retreats during the summer, run by religious leaders who include religious themes throughout the trip. These retreats include a lot of fun activities, such as swimming, crafts, and scary stories by the fire. In addition to typical retreat activities, children will also attend worship services and talk about spirituality with peers, who can eventually become lifelong friends. Children will also have the opportunity to express their devotion to God in song or another art form, such as acting or dancing. It's a way to make religion fun, and use it as a source of inspiration for creativity.
You don't need to send your child to a private school for them to include god in their daily lives, but private schools make it a priority and encourage it.

When my kids were old enough to go to school, I realized that I didn't want them to have the same type of experience that I did when I was growing up.
